Celebrations within the Communities

From time to time we get calls from residents asking for permission to use fireworks on the property.  As much as we like to see our residents celebrate and be merry we do have to stop and reflect on the safety issues that may arise.  In many cultures and places around the world, fireworks and shooting off guns in the air is acceptable and the celebrations can be very elaborate and enjoyable.  So is this acceptable at Central, Evergreen, Cedar Village, and North Meadows?  Unfortunately the answer is NO!

According to the American Academy of  Pediatrics 1/3 eye injuries caused by fireworks result in permanent blindness.   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state that the majority of these injuries happen to people under the age 20.  As a manager of Central Mobile Home Village I take my position very serious.  I care for the families within my community and their well being is on the top of my priority list.

Did you ever wonder where that bullet goes when you shoot it in the air?  Well keep n mind, “What goes up must come down”.  Can a bullet fired into the air kill someone when it comes down?  Yes! It will and its happened many times.  A bullet falls on average of 250 feet per second when it is fired in the air and starts to fall.  Studies show that this can kill a man, woman or child.  What a way to end a celebration! If you witness anyone discharging a firearm or using fireworks on any one of the Pentagon Property Communities please contact the property manager immediately!

To all our new residents we encourage you to make sure you read  the Rules and Regulations section of your Lease agreement.  A permit for parties is required and can be obtained at the office of each property and is free. Thank you to all the residents of all our communities for making last years celebrations safe.

May all your celebrations be safe and memorable for 2013 and many years ahead!

Angela Vera,

Property Manager for Central Mobile Home Village.
