There’s no wonder why one of our most popular manufactured home communities is located right in the heart of a town who’s motto is “A great place to Live, Learn, Work and Play”.
Carrollton, Georgia, nestled right in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains has a history dating back to 1826, when Carroll County was first chartered. Named in honor of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last living signer of the United States Declaration of Independence, communities in Carrollton enjoy a rich connection with national history and the natural world.
With the coming of the rail road into Carrollton after the Civil War came industrial prosperity to the beautiful Georgian town, and the city remained a manufacturing and industrious center in the region throughout the first half of the 20th century, and today, the Southwire Company (founded in 1950) keeps up that manufacturing tradition by being the largest manufacturer of wire and cable in the world. Other industries Carrollton specializes in includes companies in the airline, construction, power distribution, poultry, software, home entertainment, and health care industries, among others.
Our Cedar Grove community also embodies that manufacturing tradition with our high quality manufactured homes and nurturing community. Here you’ll find the natural beauty of the Appalachians, the wonderful city of Carrollton, and affordable living at it’s best.
This is part of a weekly segment we’ll be doing here examining the rich history of the regions where you can find our best manufactured home communities – Carrollton, Emerson, and Atlanta, GA as well as El Campo, TX.
