The Times-Georgian is reporting that Yachiyo, a Japanese auto parts supplier, will be locating not far from Cedar Village, our Carrollton community. The company will be holding a recruitment fair with the Georgia Department of Labor on April 5, in Waco to help Yachiyo Manufacturing of America fill several jobs for their forthcoming plant.
The new plant will be manufacturing plastic fuel tanks and sunroofs for automobiles at its 130,000-square-foot facility on the old Sony Driving Range property, located near the intersection of Columbia Drive and Beulah Church Road, Carrollton.
According to the Times-Georgian, the company is recruiting for environmental health and safety coordinator, technical services manager, accounting assistant manager, purchasing coordinator, technical associates, quality assurance manager, shipping and receiving team leader, assembly team leaders, materials coordinator, final inspectors and production associates.
Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations require that the applicants be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED). Applicants are encouraged to bring a resume and will be required to complete a company application without assistance. Don’t forget to dress appropriately!
Yachiyo announced last September it would locate to the Carrollton community, using the 23.5-acre tract owned by Carrollton Payroll Development Authority.
The company indicated at the time that it plans to fill about 230 new jobs.
“The company will bring some high-level management jobs with them, but the majority of the jobs will be hired here,” Jim Camp, attorney for the Carrollton Payroll Development Authority, told the Carroll County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 26. “The jobs will range in scope from manual labor to very specialized jobs.”
Yachiyo Industry was established in 1953 in Japan and has built an outstanding reputation as an automotive parts supplier. The company now employs 6,800 workers worldwide, with five manufacturing operations in North America. Yachiyo of America Inc. is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.
